About DUPR Coach credentialing process
The DUPR Coach credentialing process is fully remote, flexible, and designed to be completed at your own pace. In just five simple steps, you'll gain the ability to generate Coach-Assigned DUPRs for non-rated players, helping them understand their skill level and improve their game. Complete and pass two key assessments, evaluating pre-identified players and assigning Coach-Generated Ratings to unlock your credentialing capabilities. After passing the assessments, you'll begin rating four non-rated players and connecting them to DUPR. While anyone can apply, we've found that players rated 4.0+ and coaches with experience in other certifications navigate the process smoothly. DUPR Coaches must be at least 18 years old and have a DUPR, either an established rating from logging matches or a Coach-Assigned DUPR generated by a Master DUPR Coach.
It is against DUPR and DUPR Coach policy for coaches to generate a Coach-Assigned DUPR for themselves. Coaches found violating fair play rules, community guidelines, or misusing credentials, including match manipulation, fraudulent match logging, or improper use of Coach-Assigned DUPRs, will have their DUPR Coach credentials suspended or permanently revoked. Coaches whose credentials are revoked are not eligible for a refund.
Here's what you'll need to do:
Many DUPR Coaches see a strong return on investment (ROI) after hosting their first DUPR Rating Session. Top coaches schedule these sessions multiple times a week, running 30-minute blocks to observe games on one or two courts and rate players. This simple model has proven to be a valuable revenue stream for both coaches and clubs, with most charging at least $25 per player. Every dollar you earn is yours to manage based on your club's requirements, court fees, and pricing structure.
Here's what some top clubs are doing with DUPR Coach-Assigned Ratings:
DUPR Rating Sessions are just the beginning. By rating players, you're creating opportunities to engage them in lessons, improvement clinics, and ongoing development. Players who know their skill level play more, take more lessons, and contribute more to the pickleball community. This is your pathway to a stronger coaching business, higher player retention, and more revenue—all while helping players reach their goals.
