DUPR Rating Session & Assessment Event Examples

As a DUPR Coach, incorporating DUPR Rating Sessions into your programming or hosting an Assessment Event may feel like a big task. You can always reference Running an In-Person DUPR Rating Session for general guidance, but to give you specifics and best-practice examples, we've included sample materials from The Fort, a DUPR Assessment Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, along with generic copy and ideas for your reference.

Running consistent weekly programming is a great way to establish yourself as a DUPR Coach and grow your coaching business. Below is an example of the weekly programming The Fort posts through their PlayTheFort app (PlaybyPoint), which they use as their court reservation system.

Below is sample copy commonly used by DUPR Coaches in weekly programming descriptions within court reservation systems. Many coaches customize their own Pre-Rating Session Player Checklist to align with their specific rating sessions.

[Club/Facility Name] DUPR Rating Session Description

ABOUT

Not sure which Open Play level is right for you? Want to understand your current skill level or join a tournament? Curious to speak the language of pickleball with DUPR? We're here to help!

[Club/Facility Name], in partnership with DUPR and My DUPR Coach, is excited to offer Coach-Assigned DUPR Ratings!

During these sessions, a Credentialed DUPR Coach will evaluate your performance in doubles match play and drills. Your skills will be assessed across eight key areas, and you'll receive a Coach-Assigned DUPR Rating. This rating will appear in your DUPR account and serve as your official rating until match results are recorded.

Please note: These sessions are only available to players who do not yet have a doubles DUPR rating. If you already have an established doubles DUPR from logged matches, your rating cannot be changed or adjusted by a DUPR Coach.

In addition to running weekly programming, organizing quarterly medium or large DUPR Assessment Events is a great way to maximize your impact as a DUPR Coach and rate a larger number of non-rated players at once. These events typically require multiple DUPR Coaches. Below are examples of the medium and large DUPR Assessment Events hosted by The Fort.

Here's an example of a social media post created to promote The Fort's Inaugural DUPR Event.

One of the best things about being a DUPR Coach is the ability to create and run your own programming, rating sessions, and events. You have the flexibility to structure them to fit your coaching business, your club, and your pickleball community. There's no one-size-fits-all approach. Every coach and community is different.

Your sessions or events should allow you to assess players during doubles match play and evaluate all eight game areas to generate their Coach-Assigned DUPR. If you need help creating materials, descriptions, or other resources, reach out to katie_support@duprcoach.com. Our team encourages you to create your own resources but is always happy to review and provide guidance as needed.
